I am an organic farmer by trade, and by passion. I own a small, sustainable farm where I raised my four kids. Now that they're grown and having kids of their own, I'm reliving an age old problem that most conscientious moms have. Dye-laden, fake food is so prevalent in day to day life, and worse when you're talking about treats. I wanted to give my grandkids treats I felt good about.
Cotton candy was a part of my growing up. My pop was a strong, determined man who I admire greatly. When he came from Italy, he started out spinning fairy floss (and shucking oysters across from the Port Authority in NYC, if you can believe it!). It was a quintessential part of my childhood. Fairy floss (cotton candy) is one of those joyful treats - whimsical and fun. It's hard to be upset with cotton candy in your hand! The cotton candy that we know now (bright pink and bright blue with undiscernible flavors) is not something I feel comfortable giving to my grandkids, though.
So I thought if I could combine something as beautiful and fun as cotton candy with real, delicious flavors, I'd be on to something great. Real organic cane sugar, natural dyes, organic flavors... I would allow my grandkids to eat that with no problem. As I started to create, I realized that there is a kid in all of us that loves holding a cone of beautifully spun floss, with engaging flavors.
I hope you enjoy our treats as much as I enjoy bringing them to you.
